I know what you’re saying to yourself right now…
“Oh man if I just had that new synth or keyboard, then I’d be on another level”
“The converters in this audio interface are so pristine — it would make my mixes incredible”
“Yooo, it’s wifi compatible and they added 3 new colorways — STOP IT!
Have you ever asked yourself… “Self, Do I really need this?”
Because, the odds are that you probably don’t need said piece of gear from whatever manufacturer puts out an upgrade to last years upgrade. The truth is that having the next new $1000 midi controller, keyboard etc. won’t make you a better musician…
What will make you better is practicing, studying music theory, listening to good mixes, and putting in the time and effort?
That new keyboard you just bought though? All it did was burn a hole in your pocket. Your old keyboard is just fine. Your old keyboard has the same number of keys, produces the same sounds, and is about the same size. The differences between your old keyboard and you new keyboard are in the aesthetics. One’s shiny, and one’s not.
Don’t buy new gear when your old gear works, guys. Trust me. Save your money.
