Often our favorite producers will tell us that they crank out over 20-30 beats a day and focus on aspects like mixing and sequencing later. And while this approach allows you to maximize the amount of music you make in a day, there are massive benefits of doing the opposite.
Instead of cranking out 10 ideas per day try making fewer beats and focus on flushing out the ideas you’ve already begun working on. While the quantity decreases you’ll often find that the quality increases, and with an increase in the quality we guarantee that you find yourself getting better at your craft.
Sounds crazy, right? But give it a week. Next week instead of making 10 ideas a day — start with one, and make it the best version of itself it can be. From there, go to idea 2, 3,4, etc. and let us know how it goes.
Don’t get caught up in the hype; Just like in the actual production itself, you’ll find that by creating less you’re actually creating more…
